GCSE & A-Levels
Course Description
Globalization has enabled a significant portion of the overall population to speak English, and we’ve developed technologies that help us translate any language when we don’t speak it. With that said, having the ability to speak different languages comes with creating new experiences and ways to connect with the world.
It also helps us to view things from a different point of view and pushes our minds on how we learn going forward. In addition, learning a language helps to provide support in other subjects, such as the arts, humanities, and sciences, as you’re also absorbing the culture with the language.
GCSE IN ANCIENT GREEK
Learning a foundational language that formulated many of the more common languages of our day, such as Ancient Greek, helps provide a well-rounded understanding. Then, going further, we learn about the literature and culture by studying the original content from that period. As the course progresses, students will continue this dual approach of learning the language while interpreting the meaning of the relevant text.
Students who take GSCE in Ancient Greek will:
• Learn to read, write and understand historical Greek texts the way they were meant to be learned. They will get to a point where, when presented with any type of Greek language, they will be able to understand it or derive the syntax and language by breaking it down.
• Gain awareness of how Ancient Greek led to our modern-day language. Discover its importance in so many different components that have come from this language. This is one of the first languages that helped unify many parts of the world and helped to bring in a common denominator when it comes to communication.
• Learn the fascinating history of Ancient Greek culture and society. Understand how they lived, ruled, and discovered some of the most fundamental elements that have led to today’s modern society. Whether it’s through their forms of government, their philosophy, or advances in mathematics in science, it was thanks to them that we had a solid foundation to build off of.
• Speak ideas clearly in beautiful Ancient Greek. Help to bring back to life this ancient language and speak as one of the greatest civilisations did, transcending time and connecting all of us once again.
GCSE IN MODERN GREEK
Your journey to learning modern language is starting out with the fundamentals. From rudimentary grammar and vocabulary, you’re able to start the initial steps of communication in a foreign language.
When you reach the sixth form, you’ll have enough grammatical competence and vocabulary to be able to communicate effectively close to a native. It helps take away the dependency on technology to translate for us or the assumption that the entire globe speaks English. Both are thorough exams with multiple components to cover, and the eGreek4all team is ready to help you pass that exam. We have both private one-on-one and small group classes (up to five people only), specifically designed for those looking to perform well in either the Greek GCSE or the more difficult Greek A-level examinations. Those seeking to get high marks and pass these exams should know well that there’s a certain level of commitment that needs to come from them to be able to put in the time necessary for a successful examination.
Who Can Enroll?
eGreek4all GCSE and A-level preparatory classes are open to anyone looking to excel in their examination and become a proud holder of these globally recognised certificates once passing the exam. As many of you know, keep in mind that you need first to pass certain GCSE levels to qualify to sit for the A-level examination.
We’ll be there to answer any questions you may have about enrollment, our methodology, and any potential roadblocks that may crop up. This way, you’re prepared not only with taking these examinations but with all of the administration surrounding these exams.
